FACE Summer Fun Day May 2011
Nearly
400 people attended the 4th Annual F.A.C.E. (Fundraising in
Arboleas, Caring For Everyone) Family Fun Day on Sunday 8th
May, which was held at the Salón Multiservicios del
Ayuntamiento in Arboleas.
The Fun
Day was officially opened by F.A.C.E. President Adele
Wrigglesworth and the Mayor of Arboleas, Angel García
Martínez, assisted by interpreter Ben Bamford.
In
beautiful weather, a fantastic array of entertainment was
provided. Underpinned by DJ Extraordinaire Johnny Slade who
provided music throughout the whole afternoon. Thanks must
go to the Julie Bruce Dance Academy and the Julie Bruce
Zumba Dancers, Adam Lukin (a Michael Jackson dancer), Grupo
Arbuli (four English Ladies that do Spanish Dancing),
Carrie's Dusty Boots Line Dancing Group, Suzie Hudson and
Trevor Spencer's with their Rock 'n' Roll team, The Sol
Centre Yoga Demonstration Group of La Cinta, and last but
not least, singer Sabrina.
F.A.C.E
would also like to thank all the local businesses who
provided support with donations of sponsorship along with
raffle and tombola prizes.
Finally
much appreciation should be recorded for all the wonderful
helpers........too many to name, but you all know who you
are.......that voluntarily gave their time and energy and
helped to make the day the wonderful success that it was.
At the
end of the day approximately 2300 € was raised, although we are still
counting, and this money will be donated to Age Concern, España, Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, M.A.C.S. (Mojacar
Area Cancer Support) and ALCER (A Spanish Association who
give assistance to people suffering from Renal illnesses.

FACE Christmas market 2010
.....well it is all over for another year!!
F.A.C.E. Annual Christmas Market has been and gone!!! Oh
what a great time we all had. Angel Garcias the Mayor of
Arboleas welcomed everyone and opened the
market...........thank you for your continued support. Even
in these lean times we raised 1,650.00 euros and
counting ...so well done to everyone !!!
A BIG BIG "Thank You" goes to all our helpers......we
couldn't do it without you. A BIG "Thank You " to Bob from
Sound Waves for doing a great job as MC. "Dusty Boots" line
dancers and Voices of Almanzora for wonderful entertainment.
F.A.C.E. will now be able to continue supporting MACS (Mojacar
Area Cancer Support). AECC ( Asoicicon Espanola Controla el
Cancer) and hopefully getting Age Concern Espania here in
the Almanzora valley in 2011..........watch this space!.
Oooops! almost forgot to thank "Santa" for making a special
visit at this very busy time of year!

FACE Summer Fun Day June 2010
raised...........€2,750.00......and
counting!!!!
Not bad to say we were up against the England match....enough said, also
Spanish Grand Prix. We would like to say a BIG " THANK YOU" to everyone
who turned up and supported us....plus The Mayor of Arboleas, Angel
Garcia for opening the day. The weather was hot and so was the
entertainment!!! Huge thanks to Bob from "Sound Waves" for being a
wonderful M.C. and providing great music all day.Thanks to Sabrina,
Grupo Arbuli, Cool Sax, Carrie's Dusty Boots, Susie & Trevor with the
Rock & Roll Team, the children of Arboleas, "Grupo de Baille de Arboleas"
and last but not least Tony Justice.......Thanks to all the local
business's who support us with donations, sponsorship, raffle & tombola
prizes etc. we really appreciate it and all the wonderful helpers.....
too many to name but you all know who you are......couldn't do it with
out you!!! If

FACE Christmas Market November 2009
Friday
27th Nov F.A.C.E, Christmas market...........well it has been and
gone!!
Oh what a time we all had
....even with this nasty old credit crunch we raised
2,000.00 euros and still counting!!!
BIG,
BIG, "thank-you's" to all our
helpers...just tooo many to name but you know who you are so
thank you! We also need to say a big thank- you to Tony
Bate, for his very generous donation, Richard for doing a
great job as M.C. "Dusty Boots" line Dancers, Voices of
Almanzora for wonderful entertainment, Ben for translating,
Gerry...Phoenix trading, Essentails of Arboleas, Susan &
Mike of DesignerMagik, Charter supermarket, GB Stores,
Girosol, Price Busters, John & Debbie for "Santa's Grotto",
Smooth F.M.. and SolTimes.
With all the hard work and
amazing donations FACE will now be able to go ahead with the
planned help at La Immaculada Hospital Hercual Overa, with
the Breast Cancer Support Group and Cemotheropy Unit.

FACE Family Fun Day June 2009
Making a change from our usual street party style we
eagerly accepted the mayor of Arboleas, Angel Garcias kind invitation
to hold our FUN DAY along with the opening of the newly refurbished
Naive now known as Salon Sevicios Multiples de Arboleas. A great day was had by all! Everyone was busy browsing
stalls, buying raffle tickets, playing hook-a-duck ,hoop-la, guess the
dolly's birthday, while enjoying food from the B-B-Q and drinks from
the bar !!! Even with this nasty old credit crunch we raised
3,300.00!!!!!!!......and still counting!!!! This will be donated to local charities . We need to
say a BIG "THANK-YOU" and" Well done" to everyone who worked so hard
before, on the day and clearing up afterwards!! too many to name but you
know who you are....... so thank you .This year we welcomed new
helpers......many, many thanks....hope you will join us again next year. Thank you to all our wonderful entertainers...."Way of
Life", Steve Fisher aka Rod Stewart "Danny, Ben & Bob", "Sabrina", Dusty
Boots line Dancers, Sevillana Dancers, Girls Dancers of Arboleas and
special thanks to Bob who stepped in at last minute as our M. C. It is
hard work organising a fund raising event , we could not do it with out
the continued help and wonderful support of so many.

FACE Family Fun Day June 2008
We raised just under 6,500 Euros
on the day... and still rising!! Special thanks to all our helpers, friends and neighbours for
their endless work before, on the day and the clear up afterwards. Local
businesses who have given generously with raffle prizes and providing drop
off points, too many to mention but you know who you are... THANK YOU. A special mention for the Charter
supermarket in Arboleas who got the the day off to a brilliant start when
they presented us with a cheque for 1000 Euros. Wonderful entertainment thanks to our MC Mr
John Darin, who did a brilliant job of introducing The Rambla Dogs, Steve
Fisher aka Rod Stewart, Lorraine and Danny plus fabulous dancing from the
Belly Dancers, Line dancers, Sevillianas Dancers, Flamenco Dancers -
everyone was wonderful providing such great entertainment on such a hot,
hot day! |
